Happy Monday!!!

Confession: Every week, I promise myself to spend the weekend ‘cleaning house”….but then the weekend arrives and well, I get distracted…and pretty much every Monday am, I am still looking at that same messy house. LOL last weekend, the weather was nice and we planted a bazillion flowers instead of cleaning house. The house kinda looks like WW3 was rehearsed here, but we had fun and the patio looks awesome, so guests can just stay outside and admire the flowers 🌺🌺🌺

And as promised….
Yesterday, I mentioned that I wanted to dive into the 3 most popular revenue models in the low content/PLR niche. The reason is that I get a lot of emails from people that feel like they are failing because their numbers don’t seem to match up with what others post and they don’t understand why theirs experiences don’t seem to match up. While that may be true for some – well, it ain’t easy! – sometimes the numbers we see and hear don’t always tell the FULL story of the P&L columns….

So first up, these are the main revenue models that we see in our PLR/low content niche:

1. Content/Product Creator/Vendor
2. Affiliate Marketing
3. Bundle/Event Organizer

Most of us fall into #1 & #2 at any given moment, and many more are trying their hand at #3. The problem is that while we see and hear a lot of folks talking about the money they are making with all 3 models – we rarely see the cost or the net returns, just the gross income.

So today let’s look at a typical product launch breakdown as a Content/Product Creator:
Let’s say you sell 400 planners at $27 apiece, for a gross revenue of $10,800. Sounds like a great payday, right?

Um…not as great as you might think…..so let’s take a look at the deductions:

Transaction fees: $600 to $1000 (depending on whether you host yourself or use a platform like Warrior+Plus), so lets use $800 as an average number here…..So now we are down to $10,000

Affiliate Commissions: usually 50% commission to the referring Affiliate
Affiliate sales generally will account for a minimum of 50% of your sales during a launch….and that is very conservative….
If we deduct that from the original sales number of $10,800, that means that we paying out $5,400 in commissions…..

And this is what the REAL numbers look like after the launch:

Total Sales:                          $10,800
Less Transaction fees:         $     800
Less Commissions:             $  5,400
Net Profit                             $  4,600

Now, that bottom number is nothing to sneeze at – it’s real and it’s awesome, but it’s a LOT different than the numbers we see bandied about so often after a launch or event! The reality of the situation is that most Vendors will make between 30% and 40% after the dust settles for a product event – although no one on Warrior+Plus would ever admit that LOL

And do remember that this does not take into account any other fees you incur setting up your website, or your store, or the hours you put into creating the product – or what you paid someone else for that work.

So, if you have launched a product recently and wondered why your numbers don’t add up to what others report – very few actually share the whole story because, well, those bottom-line numbers just aren’t as much fun to share.

And needless to say – your numbers may be different based on the size of your list versus the number of affiliates you have. I have seen several offers lately that were NOT available for affiliates to promote. I think that is not a good model in the PLR space but I also understand why some are taking that path – although I do think it is shortsided.

It’s a one-time cost unlike most that are monthly or annual licenses. From Matthew McDonald, this is a definite winner for me! Excellent video on the sales page that walks you through everything.
