I am always surprised when readers take the time to respond to my (almost) daily missives because it still amazes me that people are actually reading it! LOL! And trust me when I say you make my day when you do!
Yesterday really seemed to hit home with a lot of you, and I thank everyone for taking the time to reach out. I had more than 40 responses yesterday - all from readers (both men and women!) that simply wanted to start a side hustle or add a little extra to their monthly income, but were feeling frustrated because all of the 'experts' told them they needed to find their passion first, and it just was not happening.

You know what my passion is right now?
Getting to go to my fave pizza parlor, without a mask and
getting to eat my favorite pizza
|
IN THE RESTAURANT WITH SOMEONE ELSE WAITING ON ME
AND DOING THE COOKING AND DISHES.
|
So that is probably not something that I can turn into a business - but that IS my passion right now!!
|
The bottom line is that while it is nice to be able to make money from your passions - it is not always practical. Many people that do this wind up with hobbies online that cover the cost of their websites, and little more. That is not what I want from my business.
But here is what IS important about choosing your biz venture, whether it is a side hustle or a full-time business: It should be something that you will at least enjoy, or at the worst - NOT HATE!! If you hate what you are doing or selling - you will not stick with it and then it is just one more waste of your time. You don't need that.
I think that is one of the things that attract so many people to the Low-content niche is that you can, in fact, create a low-content product around virtually any topic or niche. Journals and planners can be created for virtually any design or interest or hobby or profession. The list of possible topics is endless.

I cannot honestly say that creating planners and journals is my passion - I think chocolate might hold that spot - but I CAN say that I truly enjoy what I do, and the creative aspect of this business is definitely something that brings me joy, and it pays the bills.
|
All in all - that's a pretty darned good thing to be able to say about any business at the end of the day ;-)

Kitchen Sink Mastermind News!!
The Kitchen Sink Mastermind gets its own site and community at the end of this month, if not sooner! As discussed recently, we will be moving to a paid model to help underwrite the various events that have planned for 2021, but low enough that it should not be a barrier to entry for most folks. I will open membership once per quarter, to coincide with our events. We will include our usual Thursday chats, a full forum and networking area, plus member profiles, replays of trainings, first opportunity to participate in all events, and whatever else our group comes up with.

BTW - I DID purchase the new BINSTA software today, and have not tried it out yet - it supposedly uses new AI that lets it automate some of the Instagram tasks. IG is definitely against any kind of automation but I will open a new account for it and see what happens and let you know before you spend your money ;-)
