Confession time: I am tired of reading newsletters from coaches telling me what my 'word of the year' should be, or what my 'motivation' for 2021 should be, or to 'find my passion' before I start a business.
I know that people find great value with the right coaches but I have bills to pay, a hefty mortgage to make every month and I kinda like to eat every day, so guess what? That is honestly all the motivation I need to focus on building my business every day!

Sometimes it seems as though it is NOT okay to be in business to make a living, and I am sorry but I do not understand this attitude! People seem to think it is okay to have a J-O-B just to pay the bills, but somehow if you are a business owner - you are supposed to have a 'higher purpose'? Why? Isn't having a good life, and keeping a nice roof over your head enough of a purpose?

I have had emails from readers saying that they felt overwhelmed and pressured because they simply were trying to stay afloat right now, and a 'purpose' or a 'passion' seemed almost incomprehensible. They felt guilty because the sole purpose of their business is to REPLACE THE JOB THEY LOST and KEEP FOOD ON THE TABLE!!

News flash, folks: There is no more noble passion or purpose than keeping a roof over your head and food on the table for you and your loved ones.
I've said this before and I will say it again:
The real purpose for having a business is to make a living.
Unless you are running a non-profit -

this IS the reason you are in business.
And it is okay to admit it ;-)

Kitchen Sink Mastermind News!!
The Kitchen Sink Mastermind gets its own site and community at the end of this month, if not sooner! As discussed recently, we will be moving to a paid model to help underwrite the various events that have planned for 2021, but low enough that it should not be a barrier to entry for most folks. I will open membership once per quarter, to coincide with our events. We will include our usual Thursday chats, a full forum and networking area, plus member profiles, replays of trainings, first opportunity to participate in all events, and whatever else our group comes up with.
