A Computer Without Power is a Paperweight

It was a little after 11am yesterday, and I was sitting here working away on my notes for the afternoon's Etsy Workshop. I had already sent out a reminder to everyone, had my research all done, and most of my tabs opened and organized for the call, when the lights blinked, we heard a sizzling noise and everything went dark. But just as I was going to unplug everything - the power came back on. And then we heard a BIG sizzling noise, and we went dark again. This time we sprang into action and unplugged the computers, routers etc to avoid any problems. Yes, we have surge protectors - heavy-duty ones, in fact, but I have still lost equipment over the years when we have had these on-off-on-off situations, so we go old-school and just unplug. And big tip: don't just unplug the power cords - make sure you unplug the router or phone cable as well. That's a lesson I learned the expensive way...sigh....
The culprit? This is the second outage in the last month - the last time it was our internet - apparently from a construction project about 1/2 mile away. Not real happy with our neighbors at the moment!
Thankfully, my iPad was partially charged, so I was able to get into my email server and let everyone know but still a big dent in the schedule!

Since we had to cancel our Etsy Workshop yesterday, I would like to start next Wednesday at 2:00 PM, rather than 3:00 PM, so that we are not pushing out too close to the holidays. I will update the info on the group page today as well.

I did not pick this up when it came out the first time, but I jumped on it this am, and picked up both the FE and first OTO, and seriously considering the foreign language version as well. This is not just another app to add robotic-sounding voiceovers to your sales videos - this one actually lets you adjust the emphasis, speed, and pitch, as well as natural sounding breaks. It also gives you access to both Google and Amazon voices. One of my main goals for 2021 is to create videos for product reviews on YT and other sites for my affiliate marketing efforts, and this is a much faster way for me to do this than doing my own voiceovers. I will create my text product review in Keynote or Powerpoint, add a couple of product images, throw that text into VoiceBuddy, and in a few minutes - I have a review video WITH a voiceover.
BONUS: IF there is enough interest, I would LOVE to do a workshop about Affiliate Marketing in November. What works, what doesn't and how to effectively be both a Content Creator AND an Affiliate Marketer. There has been so much stigma attached to Affiliate Marketing in recent years (you KNOW how many email services won't touch us!), but it's a wonderful business model if done CORRECTLY and ETHICALLY!! It's also a great way to diversify your revenue stream and provide evergreen revenue ;-)
