It's Saturday, steamy hot and humid - and we are under statewide mandated masks now, so another weekend to be spent at home. Although a bit of interesting news: we spoke with the nurses when Bob had his procedure done this week, as it was done as an outpatient at one of the largest hospitals in the city - and they had 21 active COVID patients in the hospital. Everyone said that they are far from capacity, and felt confident that they were in good shape. So fingers crossed - but I thought maybe a bit of positive news might be a nice change of pace ;-)

If you are a regular reader, then you will probably remember my recent stats on experimenting with 'bright' colored pins and the terrific results that I had, so I wanted to bring you up to speed on how the follow-up went with the Pinterest optins from the initial pin. I have kept that particular pin group separate so we could track it from beginning to end.
|
The optins were added to a 3 email sequence over 6 days. The first email was a Welcome/Reminder email which reminded them how to download their gift, and the next two, spaced 2 days apart, included 2 different discount coupons, so we could track usage better.
|
The first email (the Welcome/Reminder) had a 54% open rate, 23% click-through rate, and 2 unsubs - zero bounces! The second email had a 34% open rate, 17% click-through, and 1 unsub. The third email showed a drop but it just went out so it will get better: 19% open, 5% click-through, zero unsubs. Very interesting to note that the bounce rate is so low!

Net add to my newsletter list? 119 new subscribers, and a little over $120 in sales from the coupons. The ad spend on this was just under $10. I don't know about you, but I can live with that ROI all day long!

My biggest regret is that I did not dive into Pinterest sooner? Most interesting takeaway? I never knew how fun and addictive creating pin templates is!! LOL! Will keep you posted as the experiments continue!
