Well, all is good here in Bengal Land!! Our team won their first post-season playoff game in 31 years!!! I won't go into the history of the team here, but the family that owns the team literally have been involved in the NFL since it was founded and they have been in a long, long slump, but the city has remained loyal fans all the way, and it was great to see the celebrations all over last night and today.
Not so great having a junk-food haze today, but you need a break from adulting once in a while, right??

The head coach, Zach Taylor, spoke of the loyalty and support of the owners, and how engaged and involved they were with the team on a day to day basis, and how it made getting to yesterday's win so much easier, knowing that they had the owner's support.
You could tell that it was truly heartfelt, I know that it will be remembered not just by the owners but by the fans for years to come.

Coincidentally, I had also had an experience a few days before, that I will remember for years to come but not in such a positive light...
I purchased a course/mastermind a few days ago that I was really excited about - it was a monthly membership, with a 30-day trial at only 99¢. The 30-day trial was mentioned in several spots on the sales page, but after I checked out, the email receipt said it was a 14-day trial.

So I reached out to their support to let them know of the discrepancy because I assumed that the sales page was correct.
|
Hmmmm.....nope.
The response I got back was this:

Thank you for letting us know about this issue. We have changed the sales page to reflect the 14-day trial.
|
|
So I emailed back stating that I had signed up for the membership 'as advertised' and wanted the 30-day trial.
The next day - I received a refund from PayPal for the 99¢ and when I attempted to login to the member area - my access was denied. Yep, that was the message.
So I reached out and asked why they had refunded the money as I did not ask for a refund - I simply wanted what I had purchased...and this was the response.

We want our customers to be happy. You were not happy so we refunded your money and closed your account to make you happy.
|
|
Sheesh - so canceling my access to the course was going to make me happy??
Obviously, this was NOT about the money from my perspective, I really was excited about the course and if the course delivered as promised, I would have no doubt stayed for a long time. But...it irks me to see people renege on the promises of their sales pages over and over again, so I really did not want to let this slide.
I actually have a PDF of the sales page (I keep them so that I can look back and see what I bought a product in the first place - great reminder!) so I could cause them some serious grief if I wanted to - but these things catch up with people sooner or later. I am sorry I won't be taking the course but then again - how many other things were 'incorrect' on the sales page??? Yeah, seriously.
On the flip side - there are also so many amazing and generous peeps in our world, that it does offset the 'jackass effect' most days ;-)

If you are just starting out, and don't have the budget for Photoshop, ClickFunnels, Canva, Illustrator, etc. - PowrSuite is a great alternative at only $39! I will warn you ahead of time, PowrSuite is NOT a full-featured replacement for the above pro-level apps - but then it's not going to cost you $59 a month either.
It IS a solid and working substitute that is more than sufficient for 95% of us - and if you need more 'power', then there is a good chance that you can afford to bump up to Adobe Suite! But until then - it's better to start with something like PowrSuite than not get started!
