LOL, yes I live in a fantasy world where I pretend that I will actually be taking a break for the holidays. And to some extent, I guess I will...but in reality, most of us are just swapping one type of work for another, true?
|
You might cut back on the hours spent on the computer but I bet you will be spending that time cooking, cleaning, or baking, and by the time our holiday break is over...we will be quite happy to get back to our computers for a break!
|
And if it were not for Amazon....well, let's not even go there...
|
I received a very interesting email from Grammarly today - in the past two weeks, I have written almost 34,000 words that were checked by Grammarly. That was pretty amazing to me, but the really interesting stat? I was more productive than 94% of Grammarly users!!
Now, not all of that is original content to be sure, as we all copy and paste quite a bit when it comes to product descriptions and such, but still...it shows a great deal of consistency for the past few weeks.

And there has been a reason for that - the Advent Calendar project that I am participating in with the "Digital Divas" - Jan Small, Ruthie Bowers, Helen Ross - and , Event Coordinator Extraordinaire', Stephanie Hansen.
There have definitely been days since the event started that I did not feel like sending out the newsletter - but that would have meant that someone would have been 'cheated' out of a promotion day, and that would just not be a cool thing to do.
I have signed up for so many Challenges over the years, and I don't think I have finished more than one or two. Life gets in the way.

And even though this was not an accountability-partner-thingie - I mean we never said "YOU HAVE TO EMAIL EVERY SINGLE DAY!!" - we've all felt an obligation to do so. An obligation not just to 'business associates' but to friends.
|
And so we have all mailed out our newsletters since December 1. every. single. day. ;-)
And we discovered a funny thing...it's actually easier to do once you get in the habit of DOING it!!
|
And as we get closer to the end of the Advent Adventure, and wind down the year, we realize that our little 'mini-ventures' in Q4 taught us a lot - things that we will be bringing to the larger group in 2022, because you can do things with 5 people that you just cannot manage with 55 peeps!
|
We were able to run quick events to test ideas and concepts, put together a mini-launch in a weekend, rather than 6 weeks. Things we thought would be great ideas were so-so, while ideas that we just kinda "threw out there" were crazy successes.
We proved the power of the joint venture - both big and small - and the importance of being willing to fail, in order to learn; to never stop tweaking and testing everything, but most of all??
The importance of doing something you enjoy with people that you like!!
And from our Kitchen Sink crew to the Digital Divas - I have been so blessed this past year!! It's been a crazy busy year, but I have enjoyed all of it, because I have been surrounded by people that I like and have had fun working with.
And please, over the 'Holiday Break' - think about how you and your business might benefit from having 3 or 4 people that you can work with. If you can't get that course finished and launched - could you split it up with someone else? If you don't have time to create an entire funnel of products - who can you co-launch with?
