I hope this finds everyone safe and dry and out of the path of the storms. We've been getting rain and lightning storms the last few days, but Ida has not impacted here the way Katrina did and for that, I am very grateful. Katrina toppled a 100-year-old oak tree which barely missed the house, and caused immense damage all over the city of Cincinnati. You would think that we are too far north to get by a hurricane, but the storms come right up the riverways and we get slammed! The wildlife this week has been amazing, as we have been visited several times now by a flock of baby wild turkeys, a family of deer (mama doe, 1 yr old buck, and twin fawns!), and a mama raccoon with her posse of five little 'bandits'! Oh and last night, there was a possum on the deck, eating the meal leftover from our feral kitty. Mel's Zoo is alive and well.....

And that flamingo emoji? It has nothing to do with anything - but he matches the ones in my yard. The neighbors love me. Not.

The Accidental Bundle, or....
How To JV for Fun and Profit Without Really Trying
On the business front...well, this has been a fun one! I am sure you have seen the $5.00 'Meet The Content Creators' sale on WarriorPlus - it's a little 'mini-bundle' that came about with zero planning. No seriously, some of us were chatting one afternoon and I said "hey we ought to do something really low-cost on WarriorPlus just to see how it would go, because we haven't done anything over there in ages", and since it was my idea I said I would put it all together. (If you hang out in the Kitchen Sink Mastermind at all - you know I have a tendency to do things like this...)

So we quickly decided the price points (which later changed) and the upsell (which later changed) and set a 'lets-see-if-we-can-make-this-date', which also later changed thanks to Bob's hip surgery. So everything kinda sat around and then 2 weeks ago, I reached back out to everyone and said "Hey! Do you still wanna do this? I have a couple of not overly packed days (ha ha! I LIE!!) so let's do this", and everyone said, "Well it's about time, you lazy sot, get this thing done!".

Ok, so I was actually the only one that said that to me....but anyway, I put the sales pages together, put it up on WarriorPlus and we launched it. And it has been flying off the shelves and we are thrilled to death with the response. Are we going to make a gazillion dollars?...um...nope. Are we going to get Deal Of The Day....probably not - which is really tough on the ego when the one beating you is called "Zombie Commissions"....but I digress....

1) It was NOT an overwhelming job - basically 2 days of work and I probably could have done it in one but I had other things going on too
|

|
3) It was small enough to be fun instead of stressful
|
4) It was large enough to be worth the time to do it
|
5) You don't have to plan everything to death to succeed. Launched beats perfection.

So often, we spend so much time planning that we fail to execute - the more we plan, the more things we come up with that could happen, the more ways we find that it could all fall apart. And so we freeze and nothing happens.
Could we have done things better? Of course! You can always do things better. But our customers are getting a GREAT deal, new people are seeing our work for the first time, and we are making a few sheckels on the deal as well.

In the world of paid bundles, where bigger is better, this was miniscule - but it was fun and we got it done and LAUNCHED in a minimal amount of time.
