But the big news here today was that Bob was officially signed off by his therapist - and YES! He got the T-Shirt, too!! Two months almost to the hour after hip replacement, he is done with therapy and walking without even a cane! I am so proud of him because he has really done the work to get back on his feet and refused to just sit around and accept the situation, and the work paid off. Yea, hubby!

About those "unlimited" hosting packages...
There have been a number of offers in the past few months for unlimited hosting packages, many with a one-time 'lifetime' purchase. Since hosting can be a major expense when you are first starting out, I have had quite a few readers write in and ask my opinion on these...
|
TBH - hosting is an area where you do not want to take any chances - sometimes, as we saw recently, even companies with great testimonials by people you trust - can still turn into a bad situation. The truth is that there is no way for us, as consumers, to really and truly know what is going on inside some of the services that we use.
|
From hosting to autoresponder/email services and everything in-between, all we can do is rely on recommendations from trusted sources, and available historical data. And even then....stuff happens.
|
|
But this much I can tell you without hesitation: If it sounds too good to be true, especially in the hosting space, it usually is.
|
Companies that offer unlimited hosting/storage/bandwidth for a one-time fee are not likely to be here 6 months from now. It is NOT a sustainable business model - especially when you factor in those little things like support.
|
But there is a caveat to this warning too - if you want cheap, low cost hosting on different IP addresses, whether to build your own private blog network (PBN) for SEO purposes or simply want a place to set up test or staging sites - this can be a very viable and inexpensive way to do it.
|
BUT - I would NEVER put my money sites in this kind of situation, because in decades of being online - I have rarely seen these companies last for more than a year, and most are gone in 6 months or less - or they simply never do work as promised because the servers are usually totally overloaded from the very beginning!
|
Another warning - you know those 'resource' pages you see frequently on the blogging sites that claim to make $$$$ every month from their blogs? Most of them recommend the same one or two hosting companies...leading you to believe that they host there as well....Over the past week, of the 6 sites that I saw recommending the same hosting companies - only 1 of the sites was actually using either of the companies they were recommending!!

Yep - these two hosting companies have a GREAT affiliate program - hence the 'recommendation'....You can find out who is hosting a site with this nifty little tool:
|
And interestingly - both of the recommended hosting companies have terrible reputations among the 'average' online business owner!! So, as always, it is buyer beware and do as much research as you can before taking the plunge!
