You are getting an incredible bargain for a few dollars AND your email address. The product creator is hoping that you will read their welcome email and follow-up sequence and hopefully become a long-term customer. There is nothing wrong with that - it is not much different than the ads we see on TV or in the newspaper (do you remember those??).
And here's the thing - if you are reading this newsletter, there is a good chance that YOU are either an online business owner or are hoping to become one. Someday that may be YOU sending out that welcome email, and spending days crafting the perfect autoresponder sequence, hoping that someone out there will read it and become a new customer.

I am not saying you have to fill up your inbox with spam or with newsletters that are not relevant, but I AM asking that you understand WHAT these emails represent and WHY you are getting them. It is not junk, and it is not spam - it is a small business owner's attempt at building their business, so give them a break and at least stop to read the first one before hitting that unsub button.
