A funnel should never require a map...
|

Bob may have attended his last therapy session today - yea! - we will see how the next few days go - but trust me when I say he is mentally done with them! LOL, I don't blame him, as he is really doing great and getting around without his cane now, so I can understand why he wants to bid them adieu! It's been a long few weeks but we are both glad that the surgery is done and he can get back to (more or less) normal activity - well within the range of COVID restrictions, that is.

About that Map..
If you have been a reader or attended our Kitchen Sink Masterminds, you know that I am big on giving stuff away - whether as Lead Magnets from your site, on Facebook or by participating in events, Bundles, and Giveaways.
Now, as you may have figured out from the map above - I never took cartography in school - but that is about the way I felt the other day after signing up for what seemed like a really great Lead Magnet - a list of 40+ Facebook Groups where you can post your offer or promo.

The poster asked you to comment 'yes' if you wanted it, which I did..and then I waited...and waited...and waited...I checked back the next day and asked if anyone had gotten the list, assuming that I had screwed up because I am really not a Facebook person...but no one else had received anything either.
|
So, two days later, I received a reply to my original comment for the list, and I thought "YEA!"...but then the link took me an optin form, and truthfully that would have been fine, but then I had to confirm my email address...
|
And yeah, actually THAT was ok too....but then, instead of getting the list by email...I was sent to her private Facebook group, where I had to fill out an application (including what my monthly revenue was!), which had to be approved before I could actually receive the darned list.

12 hours later, I was still not approved and had not received anything after confirming my email...so I dropped her a message and said that I thought it was discouraging from the customer standpoint to have to wait 3 days to get the promised Lead Magnet and that I thought the funnel process might be more effective if a few steps were removed (like a bazillion of them!) to make the process more 'real time'.

Well, I did get a response to this finally - I was NOT approved for the group due to my 'negative comments' about the funnel but I was sent a link to the list of groups... unfortunately, it was in Google Docs and could not be copied edited, printed, or downloaded. LOL all that for THAT!!

I am sure this person is wondering why she is getting very little traction from her list-building efforts and that is a shame.
|
But one of the first things you should do when you create a funnel is to go through it yourself and ask yourself how YOU would feel about the process if YOU were the customer? Was it easy to navigate? Was the reward (your precious Lead Magnet!) worth the effort?
If you answered no to either of the last two questions, then it is back to the drawing board for revisions.
The goal is to make capturing the email address as painless and REWARDING for the visitor as possible - and for you!

You will learn how to create hyperlinks that allow you to add new pages without re-doing the entire planner from scratch, how to create and change tab colors and shapes and much more!
