Having lived 2/3rds of my life on the West Coast of the US, I am relatively new to the concept of 'four seasons', and truthfully, although everyone in Cincy claims to love the 'four seasons' - I think it is more myth than reality. As near as I can tell, we have two seasons here: wet and wetter. And this is from a woman that lived 4 years in a region of Oregon that was proclaimed to be the Rain Belt!!

Spring was gorgeous, though, both days of it ;-)

Seriously, it arrived late Monday afternoon, stayed all day Tuesday, and now the gloom and rain are back. We went to the local garden center, bought a bunch of flowers (yep, ever the optimist!) and they are still sitting on the deck waiting for some dry weather so I can get the pots planted. I learned long ago here that the ground is for grass, moles and cicadas, and flowers go in pots and planters. It was an expensive first planting season here, but I learned quickly! I painstakingly planted something like 300 tulip bulbs that first season, which still bloom to this day - just not anywhere near where they were planted, 'cuz the squirrels dig them up and bury them elsewhere 'for later'.

AND...this year the 17-year cicadas are coming back, so we can add pestilance to the plague. Whatever....

How Often Should I Mail My List?

Since we wrapped up the Homepreneur's Adventure Summit, this question hits my inbox at least once a day! The answer is really pretty simple: as often as you are comfortable doing so....as long as that is at least twice a week!
|
Seriously, any less than that, and people will forget you. I know you are probably afraid of someone reporting you for spam - but in reality, it is more likely to happen with infrequent mailings because your readers will forget who you are and how they came to be on your list!
|
Writing something of value every day is not always easy, but honestly, the more newsletters you READ - the easier it will become! I am on all kinds of newsletter lists, from tech news to financial news, internet marketing, copywriting, health and wellness, Entrepreneur, Medium, TheHustle, WordPress-related, TheHoth, HubSpot, Neil Patel, FatStacks, CNN....and of course - more than I can count in the PLR and low content niches.
It's how I stay on top of trends, it's where I find a lot of the content I share during the course of the week, and it's how we grow as business owners and marketers by seeing what others are doing, both in your niche and outside of it!

Throughout the week, I move interesting emails into a folder label 'for newsletter' so I don't have to search for it later. This lets me grab cool, fun and interesting content quickly when I need it ;-)
|
And by offering a variety of content every week to your readers, you will also start to find your own voice, and become more confident in 'speaking' to your audience.
|
One of the best parts of the journey of this past year has been seeing the new newsletters that are popping up in my inbox on a regular basis - Jan, Cara, Stephanie, Ruthanne, Katrina and so many others! - watching your newsletters evolve as you connect with your readers has been wonderful and inspiring!
Kudos to all of you that have taken the plunge and to the rest of you? Come on in - the water is fine and we promise that we don't bite ;-)

Yes, I bought it, played with it this am and I think this one is a winner!! If you purchased either one of the recent Pinterest Courses by Kristie and Becky (Pinning Keywords Made Easy & Pinning The Future) you will know that video pins play a big role in their success - but I hate PowerPoint and really wanted something that would create something a little 'splashier' than the typical PPT vid.

This IS a bit pricey but I really like the wide variety of iPad/iPhone video mockups that I can use for digital planner videos for social media. I think these will be very "eye-catching", will showcase my digital planners better, and goes along very well with Kristie and Becky's recent results with video on Pinterest. And I also like the fact that it is a one-time fee, and the developer Scott Oldham has been around for a long time (I think I bought my first program from him 5 years ago?)

DID YOU KNOW THAT ONE PERSON IN 13 IS GLUTEN INTOLERANT??
This is a HUGE health issue that many people think is just a fad -
trust me, when I say that it is not!!
|
I first discovered that I had a Gluten Allergy in 2009, and I can tell you from first-hand experience how important something like this journal is, especially when you are first dealing with "going GF" as we say! And even though there are more Gluten-free products today than there was a decade+ ago - you still spend a LOT of time tinkering with recipes, and trying to replicate your favorite dishes, so accurate record-keeping becomes an important part of your daily routine! A food diary is also essential because some gluten foods or food combinations affect you more than others (intolerant vs celiac).

I could go on and on but just me say that if you thinking of going gluten-free, or HAVE to go Gluten-free, it's NOT easy, and a journal like this is a critically important part of the process if you want to do it successfully!
