yes, it's time to take down the tree.....

Oh mah gosh......the furnace is fixed. I am only wearing one layer of clothing today, and typing without gloves, which unfortunately has only marginally improved my typing speed, but whatever ;-). Bob is now complaining that I have the house too warm, but I am keeping the thermostat where it is until all of my toes are thawed. Probably by May.
|
And the temps are climbing too - should hit almost 50F today, snow is melting quickly and the pond has even thawed out.
|
But the best news? All 3 of my feral kitties survived and have shown up for meals ;-)
|
|

Goal Setting for 2023: Fluid or 'Carved in Stone'?
|
2022 was such a weird year. I thought it was just me but I have seen so many others say the same thing, so I guess not. I think a lot of it was the survivor/rebound effect of the pandemic years, being isolated and trying to adjust to a very different reality for many.
|
Between caring for Bob during his hip replacement, and all of the events that we did in 2021, I entered 2022 exhausted, which caught up with me by the end of summer, when I caught something that lingered for the next few months. It really hit my energy levels hard, and aggravated a chronic illness that I have been dealing with since 1990.
|
Then during the last few weeks of the year, we have been hit with devastating family news, internet outages, the weather from hell, and days without heat with temps in the teens...and lower...so 2022 is going out with a bang! And my work schedule and plans? Dumped upside down and thrown out with the garbage.
|
So 2022? Good riddance!!!
But 2023 has me feeling good about it for some reason. No real reason that I can point to but I honestly see the future as bright and shiny and I am sooo excited about the projects we have on the horizon!
|
I have always set goals for myself - usually huge, audacious goals - but I find that I do better with 'fluid' goals rather than the 'carved in stone' goals. I need the flexibility of being able to change course if needed rather than that 'hit the target or else' mentality usually associated with goal setting.
I also know that I have to include the fun factor in every project because if I am only doing something to make money, then I will not enjoy it and it simply becomes work.

Yes, I DO work - and often some very long hours - but it does not FEEL like work.
I never dread Monday mornings, I never have to drag myself to my desk. I actually ENJOY what I do, so this is one aspect of goal setting that I refuse to compromise on!
This coming year is going to be all about ASSET CREATION: from websites to podcasts, list building to traffic generation - back to the basics of building assets that we control!!! Assets that we can keep for current revenue or sell for 'chunks' of $$$.
2023 is going to be ACTION driven - and to give credit to my good friend, Ruthie Bowers, she mentioned the word 'magic' in a discussion we were having about our 'word for the year'. I won't give away Ruthie's phrase for 2023, but it hit me when she mentioned magic that that was what I wanted in 2023 ;-)
|
So my inspirational phrase for 2023 is simply this:
Action = Magic
And we are going to be taking LOTS of action in 2023 - and surround ourselves with MAGIC THAT WE CREATE!
|
