O.M.G.....it seems that everyone must be using the new AI-powered 'lead generation' systems - I am getting bombarded with emails that are all 'personalized'....
|
- Hey Melody - your name came up in our meeting today....
- we were talking about PLRoftheMonth.Club today....
- Melody, your name came up as a great fit for an intro to a new consultant we are working with (huh??)
And of course, all of these are from people that I have never had any interactions with and most don't even have a website on their domain yet! LOL and several came from the same companies - with VERY similar 'consultant' names....

The Borgs may have arrived....but I AM resisting.
Personalization in emails might work to some extent if you are trying to fool Google into thinking that your newsletter is a personal email in the hopes of getting into your reader's inbox....but I think most of us realize that when we see our names scattered throughout an email, that it's being done through the magic of software, not because someone is taking the time to send out a gazillion personal emails....

Then again, it could just be that I am a cynical old bat and someone really IS sending personally typed emails to their entire list...it just ain't me ;-)
|
I can honestly say that there are some truly remarkable AI marketing tools coming out in the very near future, as I have been involved in a couple of the betas, and I will be investing in a couple of them because they are THAT good - but you have to use them responsibly, and intelligently.
|
These tools should be used to save you time but still need your own personal HUMAN touch to make them effective - not annoying ;-)

On a personal note....
I have been sooooo looking forward to the new year, with HUGE plans for 2023, but 2022 decided to deal us one last and very unexpected blow. We will get through it and we will survive, but our family will never be the same.
I have always been a very focused person, and able to continue working through pretty much anything, but I admit that this has thrown me for a loop. It has and will continue to impact my work schedule over the next few weeks as we sort through things and deal with the fallout, and for that, I definitely apologize, but sometimes business has to make room for real life, and this is one of those times.
But - in spite of everything, it could have been worse. At least everyone is alive and well, and still here.
