Hello and Happy Hump Day!
I hope this finds everyone alive and well, and having a wonderful week! Tomorrow is the first day of fall, and although today is 93F, we are expecting a definite change in weather tomorrow. As much as I love warm weather, the summer has been so humid that I admit I am almost ready for it to end. ALMOST.
|
This weekend the whole family is coming over for a joint birthday party for the hubby, and his oldest son and his wife. As always, this means me freaking out over getting the house cleaned.
|
Cleaning house has never been my 'thing'. Business comes first, as does cooking, concerts in the park, painting my toenails, gardening, and watching paint dry. I mean, it's neat (more or less) but if cleanliness is next to Godliness, then Houston, we have a problem. Oh well, after 22 years, hopefully, they don't expect much.

On the other hand, the grandkids never worried about getting hollered at for dripping pool water across the floor on the way to the bathroom either ;-)

Yes, this was very ugly...
Yesterday, there was apparently a tech glitch on Facebook. A new group chat feature was rolled out that was sending chat notices to everyone in the group, but most of us could not access the group to remove ourselves from the chat - we received a notice that the chat was full, try again later.
I simply turned off my phone notifications for Facebook because it was kinda obvious there was something wrong. Problem solved.

But the situation quickly turned ugly, and I mean UGLY!! People were calling the admins of the group - who had done nothing wrong! - every name under the sun as though this was some horrific event that had ruined their lives.
|
Since this happened across multiple groups, yes it WAS annoying, but it took me all of 30 seconds to change my phone settings. My day was not ruined. My life was not changed permanently. I got a good night's sleep in spite of it.
|
But the sheer viciousness of the attack on the admins was astounding! I am still stunned by some of the things that were said, and I can promise you that if I were doing business with any of those people - they would be off my list today!
|
I know we have been through a tough couple of years, and things are still rough, and many are short on patience these days, but I find that my reaction to most things is on the other side of the spectrum - I tend to be more patient and more forgiving because we HAVE been through so much. There is very little worth getting angry over these days. Life is short and precious and I don't want to waste any time in a negative space.
My mantra these days is simple: Let it go and move on. ;-)
