Yes, it's been a couple of days since I dropped into your inbox.
|
I wish I could say it was a spur-of-the-moment trip to the Maldives or I won the lottery and decided to have a body lift, but nope. Nothing so grand.
Instead, I suddenly, on the heels of the rumor of my retirement and abandonment of my business - had 3 SP*M complaints filed against me and my esp account suspended in just a couple of days.

Again.
All 3 of the names had been receiving the newsletter for more than a year. 2 had subscribed directly to the newsletter and never even downloaded a freebie.
|
So, no, none of them were being spammed.
|
|
Either they did not like the newsletter last week - I assume the BC Stack campaign ticked them off - or they did it intentionally.
|
And given the rumors that were also launched last week, I am leaning towards the paranoid concept of not believing in coincidences...
The sad part is that we have so little control over this kind of activity by 'unknown' parties, while the effect on our businesses can be devastating. Your account can be shut down with no notice because someone decides to be a toad. Your revenue takes the holiday that you won't get to...
I am back live again, MailPoet worked with me and it's all good but a word of advice to everyone reading this:

- No matter how hard you try to have all your ducks in a row - you do not have any control over the jerk with the big stick that knocks them out of line. Be prepared!
- As a reader, if you do not recognize the email sender - give them the benefit of the doubt and just unsub, do not hit that spam button. Was that email really so bad that you want to ruin someone's business over it?
- If you do not like your competition, you still need to play fair. This is a small industry, and karma is not always a nice lady. (Yep, trying to watch my language).
- The internet is not as anonymous as you think it is - everything you do leaves a trail that someone out there has the skillset to find. ;-D
Hitting that spam button can have serious repercussions. Do not take that action lightly.

It is unfortunate that this person/persons have chosen this path, rather than being a part of our group because as many of you can attest - I actually make a pretty darned good JV partner - and I am a lot more fun to work with than to fight with ;-)
