This morning's staff meeting...

Yesterday was an 'accidental' day off - we had plans to head downtown to the (used to be) annual Taste of Cincinnati, held for the first time since 2019. This is a great event where 40+ local restaurants, bakeries and breweries have booths offering samples of their top dishes. Live music, great food and always a lot of fun. Unfortunately, this year we decided to park a little ways from downtown and take the light rail (as suggested) to the Festival.

In theory - great idea! In reality? Not so much!! A snafu with the system left us all standing on the platform as car after car whizzed by letting no one depart or board. we finally gave up and walked the several miles back to the car. We survived but got home MUCH later than we had intended, so the upshot? No newsletter!
|
Although in all honesty? My hands and wrists were quite appreciative of a day off ;-)
|
Summer is always a mixed bag of emotions for me: As a native Californian, I am sooo glad to put the eastern winter cold behind me, but as a business owner, I know that it usually means a slowdown in business, too, because people are outside doing things instead of playing on their computers!
|
It's natural, it happens and it's nothing to panic about, although I will admit that combined with other market events right now, we could see a bit more slide than normal. But that's ok too - it simply forces us to get more creative and think outside the box a bit.
|
Last year July - which should have been one of my worst months - was one of my best. I already have two projects lined up that I think will take up the slack by offering something new and different from my usual offers - watch for the announcement in June - but I also admit that it take some brainstorming to come up with the new concepts too. But they are going to be fun and I am looking forward to sharing them with you soon.
I also plan to update a couple of summer-time products and re-launch with new formats.

I am probably not going to do any birthday or flash sales because we have had so many of them lately that I think we are getting 'sale blindness'!
|

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, I have invested heavily recently in more educational courses, focusing mainly on SEO, traffic generation and conversions. These are topics that are fundamental and will serve me well for years to come.
|
I consider it the college degree program for internet marketing....and it's no doubt more relevant than what is being taught in most universities these days (fess up: when is the last time you used calculus?)
