YEA...sorta...
|

Well for some unknown reason - I was wide awake at 5am, and although I really, really tried to NOT get up, it was a lost cause, so I was up and working by 5:20 this morning.
And I (mostly) put that time to good use, making some changes to my site, changing out some plugins that are more compatible with UserWay, and got my site speed back up to A/99% on GTMetrix. Still tweaking for some of the Google site metrics, but definitely better than it was! Unfortunately, there was a conflict with UserWay and a couple of plugins, and while it did not break anything, my GTMetrix score had dropped to a D recently, which is not acceptable, so I have been playing around with it for the past couple of weeks, whenever I had a few spare minutes here and there, and finally hit the right combination this am ;-).

Needless to say, I was thrilled to death when I scored the above screenshot this morning....
|
And that lasted until a couple of emails from folks saying that they could not download the planner for Ruthie's bundle....my first thought was that I did not have things connected right but then I realized that there had been almost 100 downloads already, Ruthie and I had both tested it prior to launch....so that meant that it had to be related to an update - which could have been a plugin, my theme, the PHP version or even aMember.

So that started a round of testing that took a little more than 2 hours to determine:
|
- the issue was not aMember
- the issue was not a SINGLE plugin but rather a conflict between several recently updated plugins; and
- to find the right combination of plugins that did not kill the javascript-based aMember buy buttons, and still get my GTMetrix score back where Google wants it to be.
But I was eventually able to do it through trial and error, and in large part - by staying calm and analyzing the situation, rather than panicking, because at one point - the entire site lost its formatting as I activated one particular caching plugin to replace one that I thought might be the issue...but as soon as I deactivated that one problematic plugin?
The site was back to normal again ;-)

Although WordPress might seem complicated and overwhelming when you are first learning it - the truth is that it is actually an extremely robust and hardy platform that can take a lot of abuse before it breaks ;-)

It's almost over - just one more day and its gone!
I've gone through most of the bundle now, and as always, very impressed with the quality of everything.
I will be utilizing a LOT of the planner templates in the bundle in different ways, to make them mine, and the coloring patterns? You probably won't recognize them when I am done - and that is what makes this such a goldmine.

With this much QUALITY content at your fingertips - there is virtually no limit to what you can do. And I will do the same thing I always do - download everything, and then spend an afternoon combining the products I want to merge to create new products in separate folders so they are ready to go when I need them.

Always, always, its about systems and ways to create new products quickly and easily and this bundle is one of the keys to doing this because - I will say it again! - these are all quality products and that makes all of the difference ;-)
