Instead, it's often a necessity as most of us are slogging away being adults (more or less) and trying to keep a roof over our heads.
|
There are days when the tech just seems like it has a mind of its own and will NEVER do what it says on the box, when customer support issues will take up the time you had slotted for your newsletter, or your hosting company decides to disappear just as your site goes down in the middle of your launch...
|
It's tempting, and human, really, to look on these exasperating events as the universe being out to get you...
|
...and it's easy to think that no one else has the same problems that you do because after all - they are all running successful online businesses, and blogs, and Etsy stores, and taking off on vacations, and playing with their dogs while you are sitting in front of your computer 12 hrs a day, wondering why you still don't have your first KDP book uploaded.
|
Newsflash: it ain't just you.
Most of us are not working the 4 hour week. I know that is not what a lot of folks want you to believe - but that IS the reality of it.
Most of us are working long hours to get our businesses up and running, even after we reach the point of paying the bills. Just because you are covering that roof over your head does not mean that there is enough to spare to hire a VA or an artist or an IT person!
Making the transition from a corporate job to working from home is not just a matter of coming up with a product idea - for most, it is learning a whole new set of skills, some of which may be light-years away from what your background or training is, and doing things without the support system you probably had in your old job. It means flying without a safety net.

And it can be discouraging, and frustrating, and sometimes you want to chuck it all away.
|
Don't.
It DOES get better. You are DEFINITELY not alone, and you will make it through this. I started down a whole new career path at 65....and I survived to tell the tale - and you will too ;-)
